They were orphaned and seperated under traumatic circumstances that left Sage with amnesia. Espoir grew up living with distant relatives who provided him with the best of education and magic training, but he always wished to find his sister again. It's his private obsession to meet her and have her become part of his life. Beyond his sister-complex, Espoir is cocky, outgoing, fickle, and flamboyant. He's the type of person that excells at everything and cultivates an image of perfection to show to the world. He can get overly caught up in this perfection and frequently needs to be dragged back down to earth. He's just out of school and trying to make his way as an actor, but he also considers himself a fairly talented mage. Espoir is a raging flirt. He tends to chase guys for sport and he's easily distracted by a pretty face or a rugged body. That, however, is just for fun; he's deeply committed to his actual relationship with Haiku and would never do anything to hurt him. They're a pretty stable couple and they work, in a completely-opposites kind of way.
